Canadian Patent Agent - Electrical, Software, and AI

Bhole IP Law is a growing boutique Intellectual Property law firm that works with some of the country’s most exciting tech companies and research institutions. Our clients include leaders in machine learning, quantum computing, cryptography, augmented reality, image recognition, electronics and mechanical industries.  

We compete with, and often win clients from, the large Bay Street firms. But we are not a typical law firm. We are like our clients: fast moving and adaptive to change. We are a group of passionate, enthusiastic lawyers and agents that are positioning our firm for the future. 

We are seeking to hire up to two new professionals to join our patent agency team. Ideal candidates are those with the following attributes: 

• A strong desire and ability to be client facing 
• An appetite to provide value-based advice and strategic guidance to clients 
• Self-motivated with the discipline to lead and deliver on client needs with minimal direction or supervision, but the judgement to seek additional perspectives when needed 
• Interest in participating in continuous improvement in law firm process efficiency 
• Background in software, electrical or other engineering-related field 
• Successfully passed at least one of the patent agent qualifying exams; fully qualified Canadian patent agent preferred 
• Licensed lawyer not essential. However, candidates that are lawyers would have the ability to work on transactional matters as well.

Bhole IP Law provides competitive compensation and benefits. The firm covers all LSO, CPATA and insurance fees as well as professional development and business development expenses. 

We are located in Toronto, however remote work is possible.
